Career Development Events
|
Overview
Career Development Events build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student's technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as their knowledge of the subject matter. CDEs answer the question, "When will I use this knowledge in the real world?"
Many CDEs are qualifying events for the National FFA CDE competition and/or offer scholarship opportunities.

***ID LIST INFORMATION***
We are in the process of removing all ID lists from the individual rules documents. Within the next few weeks, all lists will only be found on JudgingCard.com at the following link: http://www.judgingcard.com/resources/List.aspx. Many lists can already be accessed on this site, but there are a few more that need to be completed. As lists are added to this site, they will be removed from the rules.
Note that on the ID list, "133-snakefly" should not be used, since its correct order (Raphidioptera) was not included on the 2017 list.
***UPDATED SCAN SHEET INFORMATION***
The following events will have new scan sheets for the upcoming CDE season: Agronomy, Entomology, Environmental & Natural Resources, Food Science, Forages, Milk Quality Products, Poultry, Range, Wildlife, Woodlands Clinic (Forestry), and Wool. The new scan sheets should be available by January 1, 2017.
The following scan sheets will not have a design change and do not need to be discarded: Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems, Ag Sales, Cotton, Dairy Cattle, Farm Business Management, FFA Quiz (LDE), Homesite, Horticulture (Used for Vet Science), Land, Livestock, Meats, Plant ID, Universal Form A (Used for Horse Evaluation), Universal Form C (Used for Floriculture and Nursery/Landscape)
